The hot item this week is that the Chancellor is proceeding with his pre-Election objective of dismantling the FSA which it looked as if he might have abandoned as one of the parts of the Coalition agreement. As is indicated in the FSA Chairman’s welcome there are still a number of points to be clarified in what the new regulatory arrangements will look like but the Tripartite system will be no more and it appears the Bank of England will become the dominant regulator.
Also of important note this week is the item on mortgage reform that is pending and the item on unfair contract terms and how you can “fairly” obtain your customers’ agreement to your terms and conditions.
