Many Newsletters follow a theme and the theme this week is very much the FSA in a helpful mood with guidance and useful links.
The Enforcement and Final Notices listed are helpful in that they allow you to learn from others’ mistakes and the 3rd article on page 2, a New One Minute Guide to the Financial Services Act 2010, is certainly efficient. It is a one minute guide with just the one page and the element that is important for all small firms is the short section on the enhanced powers of enforcement.
Also quite helpful is the One Minute Guide on complaints handling which takes the form of questions and answers, so that’s a very easy read and good revision for all of us.
The 1st article on page 1 demonstrates the hard line the Regulator is taking in respect of failing to monitor money laundering correctly so the Paper from the JMLSG is helpful at this time, but with 115 pages it’s a long read.
Another bit of help from the ABI making some very valid points about travel claims caused by the volcanic ash cloud – 1st article on page 3.
