Dear [FIRSTNAME],
Our leading article will not surprise our readers when you read that the FSA’s Business Plan for 2010/11 requires ‘greater policy and supervisory resources’ which means recruiting an additional 460 staff. The Plan itself takes a good deal of time to read but the one page summary will give you a good flavour of the Plan’s content.
At the top of page 3 is a link to the FSA factsheet for IFAs that advise on structured investment products but the suitability information (not to be confused with guidance) is useful for all firms which provide advice to clients.
Lord Turner’s speech (page 4) has a very long title – ‘What do banks do, what should they do and what public policies are needed to ensure best results for the real economy?’ The one page summary is interesting and the attached slides, particularly the graphics, are worth a glance.
Mortgage firms need to read the Mortgage Lenders’ Roundup at the bottom of page 5 and the CML News and Views at the bottom of page 6. We are all at risk of breaching the ICO Rules and the example of stolen laptops, last article page 5, could be a lesson for all of us.
If we can be of any further assistance on these or any other regulatory subjects, please remember your helpline 08456 12 12 11 for a without obligation conversation or email admin@ifact.co.uk.
Kind regards
