The New Year starts with relatively good news with the first article on page 1 illustrating that the FSA is now examining the practicalities of delivering the Retail Distribution Review (RDR) and the challenges that individual Advisers will be meeting while achieving their Level 4 qualifications. Extending the RDR to Pure Protection Products may be a move too far too soon or at least until any beneficial effects of the RDR have been evidenced and analysed. The RDR Factsheet on page 2 is at least very short and a ‘must read’ for IFAs and other firms that market Pure Protection contracts.
General Insurance Intermediaries who write Personal Lines business need to read the ABI article (page 7) as it is bound to influence any business that you attract or write online.
